SPICY RAW TOMATO CURRY
RAW TOMATO CURRY INGREDIENTS:-

- Raw tomatoes-6 numbers (medium size)
- Fresh coconut scrapings-1 /2 cup
- Fried grams-3 tablespoons
- Red chilies-8-10 (byadigi-less spicy)
- Fresh coriander leaves-a handful
- Fenugreek seeds-1-2 teaspoon
- Asafoetida-1 peanut size
- Jaggery-1 tablespoon
- Table salt-3/4 teaspoon or according to taste
- Oil-1.5 tablespoon
PREPARATIONS NEEDED FOR RAW TOMATO CURRY
- Select firm, fresh green raw tomatoes.
- wash and cut the tomatoes into small pieces.
- Grate fresh coconut about 1/2 cup in measure.
- Chop fresh green coriander and keep aside.
- Keep all the remaining ingredients ready.
METHOD TO MAKE RAW TOMATO CURRY
- Take a frying pan, and heat it at low flame.
- When hot add 1/2 teaspoon oil and put the red chilies and fry till they turn crispy.
- Now put curry leaves and roast.
- Add fenugreek seeds and roast till brown.
- Let it cool completely.
- Put it in a blender jar.
- Now add fresh coconut, fried grams, and coriander leaves to it.
- Grind till you get a fine paste. keep aside.
- Take a frying pan. Heat on a low flame.
- Add Oil to it and put Mustard seeds and when it crackles put Asafoetida.
- Break a Red chilly into 4 pieces and add to it.
- Now add cut Raw tomatoes to it and also add turmeric powder and saute.
- Add salt and as the tomato has water in it, just cover it and keep it to cook.
- When tomatoes become soft, add the ground paste to that and mix nicely.
- Add jaggery to it.
- Add water if the curry looks too thick and check the salt.
