Today I will be showing you sweet and spicy makhana recipes.
(Along with it I shall be giving you tips on making different flavored snacks -using makhana seeds.
The very popular way of preparing any makhana recipe is to roast the seeds and season them with any choice and combination of herbs like curry leaves, mint, or coriander leaves.
Spices, such as sea salt, turmeric, chili powder, black pepper, and black salt can be used.
Sugar or jaggery with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, and cardamoms can be used to make sweet makhana.
Ingredients for spicy makhana recipe:-

HERO INGREDIENT MAKHANA SEEDS
3 cups of makhana seeds(total)
(2 and 1 cup for, 2 recipes)
Spices needed for the spicy makhana:-

- makhana-2 cups
- 1/2 cup of peanuts or groundnuts
Roasted and made half after removing the outer skin - 1/4 cup of dry coconut slices
- curry leaves -(fresh or dried)-10-12 leaves
- Red chilly powder-1 teaspoon
- table salt-1/2 teaspoon
- turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
- Asafoetida-1 small pinch
- Ghee-1 and a1/2 teaspoons
- black salt-1/2 teaspoon or chat masala (optional)
Instructions for making spicy makhana recipe:-
ROASTING MAKHANAS:-
- Take a thick-bottomed pan and heat it on a low flame.
- when the pan is hot put ghee in it and roast the makhanas for 3-4 minutes.

- To test whether they are done or not, take a makhana in between your fingers and press. If it doesn’t break, It means it is still not done.

- Continue for 1 more minute, and see if it powders if pressed. If yes remove them into a plate.
making of spicy and tasty makhana:-
- Keep all the ingredients needed ready, for spicy makhana.
- Heat a pan and add ghee to it. keep the flame low.
- Add the ingredients like Hing, Turmeric powder, chilly powder, and curry leaves. saute.

- Now add roasted (skin removed) peanuts, and Dry coconut slices into the pan and saute till they are crisp at low heat.

- Now add the roasted makhanas into the pan and combine them for a few seconds till all the makhanas get coated with the spices.

- A very healthy, spicy, tasty, and light all-time snack is ready to munch. how is this?


INGREDIENTS FOR SWEET MAKHANA RECIPE:-
- Makhana-1 cup
- Jaggery-1 and 1/2 tablespoons
- water-1 teaspoon
- cardamom powder-1 pinch

Making of Sweet makhanas:-
- Keep the above ingredients ready for making sweet makhanas.
- Heat a frying pan or skillet, and add ghee to it.

- Roast sesame seeds in the pan at low flame till they swell and smell. Remove onto a plate.

- To the same pan add jaggery and a spoon of water to melt it.

- The jaggery melts and bubbles are formed.

- As soon as the jaggery melts and bubbles are formed, add the roasted sesame seeds and cardamom powder to the pan

- Put off the flame and combine all of them nicely so that each makhana gets a good coating of the jaggery and sesame. add roasted makhanas also.

- Remove on a plate, if the makhanas stick to each other, no worries, you can separate them as it cool.

- A very yummy, attractive, tasty sweet ball-like recipe is ready to cherish.

notes:-
Instead of the spices which I have used you can use mint or coriander leaves.
Instead of red chilly powder, you can use black pepper powder.
ginger, garlic, and onion powders also may be used.
you can use Maggi masala or perperi masala too for flavors.
chat masala or black salt may be used.
The basic thing is that you have to roast makhanas and add some ghee or oil so that you can roast masalas and make them stick on them.
