Quick evening snack-Mosuru kodubale

HELLO EVERYONE,

Today I am here with a quick, easy, and tasty snack MOSURU KODUBALE OR CURD RINGS. As the name suggests it is made from curds and is in a ring shape.

MOSURU KODUBALE

Many times we are stuck at a point, and are in a dilemma, regarding the preparation of a snack that should be easy to make, less time-consuming, and at the same time yummy with readily available ingredients.

Mosusru kodubale, is one of them. This is a Kannada word, where Mosuru means -curds, and kodubale means a ring or a bangle.

MOSURU KODAUBALE is made of basic ingredients like Rice flour, Curds, salt, cumin seeds, Hing, fresh curry, coriander, and green chilies.

MOSURU KODUBALE is more common in southern parts of INDIA, So this snack is exclusively for my north Indian friends.

Let me now explain the ingredients, proportions, and method of making it.

Ingredients needed for Mosuru kodubale.

  • INGREDIENTS:-
  • Rice flour-1 cup
  • curds-1/2 cup
  • water-1/2 cup
  • Fresh green chilies-3-4 in numbers
  • fresh coriander leaves- a handful
  • fresh curry leaves-15-20 in numbers
  • ginger-1 inch piece
  • hing- 1 pinch
  • cumin seeds-3/4 teaspoon
  • oil-1 tablespoon
  • salt -3/4 teaspoon

preparation of the dough:-

  • To prepare the dough, you need to make a mix.
  • Take a mixing bowl.
  • Add 1/2 cup of curds and 1/2 cup of water and mix well to form a smooth buttermilk.

  • now add cumin seeds, finely chopped green chilies, finely chopped curry leaves, finely cut fresh coriander leaves, grated ginger, salt, hing and oil.

  • Mix all of them nicely with the help of a whisk or spoon.
  • Keep a frying pan or kadhai on low flame to heat.

  • Now add the mixture of buttermilk and let it boil once.

  • As soon as it boils, add the measured quantity of rice you had kept ready.

  • Put off the flame as soon as you mix it. You can sprinkle a little water if you feel the dough is dry and not soft.

  • Keep it covered for 1 minute.

  • Then transfer it, to a plate, to knead the dough.

  • Now when you can touch it and is not too hot, knead it into a soft dough.

MAKING OF SMALL BALLS AND ROLLING IN A SHAPE OF RING OR BANGLE:-

  • Now make small lemon-sized balls and roll them with your hand into a log shape and finally join the two ends securely to form a bangle or a ring.

  • Meanwhile, heat the oil in a frying pan to deep fry the Mosuru Kodubale.

  • When the oil is medium hot drop the rings that you had just prepared.

  • Deep fry them, flipping them in between to give a light golden color.
