suji snackFOR THIS WINTER, DO YOU WANT TO HAVE A CRUNCHY, SPICY, AND CRISPY SUJI SNACK?

Then there is a very delicious, spicy, and crispy SUJI SNACK, made out of SUJI, with a few spices to give it a very nice taste.
SUJI is also called as RAWA or SEMOLINA, which is a bi-product of wheat, which is obtained from grinding wheat coarsely.
When Wheat is finely ground, it is WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, but if the outer covering of wheat is also removed from the flour it is MAIDA.
When wheat is simply broken it is called DALIA.
Today along with Suji,  we will be using 2 Herbs, namely Ajwain (Carom seeds) and Kasuri methi (dried methi leaves).

Now let us know about the KASOORI METHI. It is a dried form of Fenugreek leaves or METHI LEAVES. While using it we rub it between our palms and the powdered form is used, which gives a nice Aroma and Taste to the dish.

Let us see the Ingredients needed for making CRISPY SUJI SNACK

  1. Fine suji or semolina-1 cup
  2. Oil-2 tablespoon- for the dough+350ml -for deep frying
  3. Water-200ml or according to the requirement for kneading the dough
  4. Kasoori methi-1 tablespoon
  5. Carom seeds or Ajwain seeds-1 teaspoon
  6. Red chilly flakes-1 tablespoon
  7. Table salt-1 teaspoon

METHOD OF MAKING SUJI SNACK

  • Take the semolina on a big plate or mixing bowl.
  • Add all the ingredients as Carom. Kasoori methi, Red chilly flakes, Salt, and 1 tablespoon of oil to it.
  • Combine them all by pressing in between palm, so that the flavor of the herbs are nicely
  • incorporated with Suji.

  • Now add water a little at a time and knead a soft dough.

  • Keep it covered for about 10-15 Mts.

  • Again add about 1 tablespoon of oil and knead the dough for about 5-8 Mts.

  • Now make 3-4 balls.

  • Roll it on a rolling board, it should be neither too thin nor too thick.

  • Now cut it as shown and press every single piece on the back side of the fork and roll it.

  • you will get small rolls ready to fry.
  • Keep a frying pan and heat oil.
  • When hot enough put the rolls to deep fry.

  • When they get golden color and are crispy strain and remove them on a kitchen towel.

  • In the same way, roll another ball.

  • This you can cut with a cutter into square shape pieces and fry in the same way.

  • When turns into golden color, remove it on a kitchen towel.
