Yes, by the name Karela (Bitter gourd), many people think, it will be bitter, not tasty, or it’s the last choice. but I assure you would love the taste and want to have it repeatedly.

As you know, karela is full of healthy nutrients and a boon for people with diabetes.

Chatpati karele ki sabzi is a delicious, dish to make, which goes best with plain paratha. In this sabzi karela (bitter gourd), potatoes, tomatoes, raw mango, onions, green chilies, and a few herbs and spices are also used.

The method of preparing chatpati karele ki sabzi is very easy, anyone can try and enjoy making it.

Ingredients needed for Chatapati Karele ki Sabzi:-

  • Karela (Bitter gourd)-300 grams
  • Potatoes-2 medium sliced
  • Tomatoes-2 big finely cut
  • Raw mangoes-1 cup roughly cut
  • Onions-2 roughly chopped
  • Green chilies-2-3 finely cut
  • Ginger paste-3/4 teaspoon
  • Garlic paste-3/4 teaspoon
  • Oil-3-4 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds-1 teaspoon
  • Fennel seeds-1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chilly powder-1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala-3/4 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder-1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder-1 tablespoon
  • Black seeds or onion seeds-3/4 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida-1 peanut size
  • Salt-1 teaspoon
  • Jaggery-2 teaspoon
  • Roasted peanut powder
  • Fresh coriander leaves.

Preparation needed for making chatpati karele ki sabzi:-

  • Take the karela and wash and cut in slices (1/4).
  • Cut the potatoes into slices.
  • Cut the tomatoes into small pieces.
  • Cut the onions into slices.
  • Chop the green chilies into small pieces.
  • Cut the raw mango into small pieces.
  • keep ginger-garlic paste ready.
  • Keep all the spices ready.

METHOD OF MAKING CHATPATI KARELE KI SABZI:-

  • Take a frying pan and add 2 tablespoons of oil to heat.

  • Add the pieces of karela to it, and saute.

  • Now add cut potatoes and saute.

  • You can cover the frying pan and cook.

  • Take another pan and add 2 tablespoons of oil.

  • Heat, now add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, black seeds, asafoetida, ginger, and garlic paste one by one.

  • saute and add onions and green chilly too.

  • The time has come to add dry spices such as coriander powder, turmeric, Red chilly powder, salt, and cumin powder.

  • Mix well, add cut raw mango pieces and jaggery powder. again saute for a few seconds.
