Making of Sesame milk cake

Making of sesame milk cake or sesame halwa is very easy and is a new sweet for this Sankranthi festival which I am going to show you in this recipe.

This is very soft, and healthy. delicious mouth-melting sweet made during the festival.

You may be aware of the nutritional benefits of sesame which is the main ingredient -HERO- of this recipe. Along with it, we need Milk and jaggery too.

Sesame milk cake is a sweet made by roasting and grinding sesame with ghee and then cooking with milk and jaggery till the mixture thickens and is then set in a greased thali.

Ingredients: The ingredients needed for making sesame milk cake:-

  1. white sesame-til-150 grams
  2. milk-400ml
  3. Jaggery-3/4 cup
  4. Desiccated coconut-1/2 cup
  5. Ghee-4 teaspoons
  6. 
  7. Raisins-10-12 in numbers
  8. Cashews-10-12 halves
  9. Poppy seeds-1 teaspoon roasted(optional)

Instructions for making sesame milk cake

  • Take all the ingredients needed in measured quantities and keep them ready.

PREPARATION OF SESAME SEEDS PUREE

  • Keep a frying pan on a stove to heat on a low flame.
  • Start dry roasting the sesame seeds.

  • Roast on a low flame till you get a nice aroma of roasted sesame seeds. You see that all the seeds puff and you get a crackling sound while roasting.

  • Now remove it on a plate and cool it a little.

  • Take a grinder jar and put the roasted seeds in it. add 2-3 teaspoons of ghee and grind to a fine paste.

  • Meanwhile, keep 400 ml of Milk in a thick frying pan to heat. let it boil for 2-3 mts.

  • Now is the time to add the ground sesame paste.

  • Stir it and mix so that you get a mix without a lump. Boil for 2 minutes.

  • You see that the milk curdles and texture is now granular.
  • Now is the time to add jaggery powder and go on mixing on a low flame.

  • Now keep on stirring the mix till the jaggery dissolves completely and the ghee starts separating slowly

  • Now is the time to add desiccated coconut.
  • mix nicely. extra moisture gets absorbed by the desiccated coconut powder.
  • when the mix completely leaves the pan forming a lump in one place, that means the milk cake of sesame seeds is ready to set.

  • Quickly grease a setting tray with ghee using a brush.

  • Spread the mixture evenly with the help of a spatula or a wide knife when the mix is still hot.

  • decorate with raisins and cashew and let it set for 1 hour. Then mark it with a knife into the desired shape and size.

  • Remove on a plate and serve to your friends at the SANKRANTHI FESTIVAL.

NOTE;- YOU CAN ADD ANY NUTS OF YOUR CHOICE TO BRING A CRUNCH IN THE SOFT SESAME MILK CAKE.
