Yes, if you do not know, after going through this recipe you would love to taste it.

RAW TOMATO CHUTNEY is an accompaniment to your main course of lunch, or dinner or can even be relished with your breakfast dishes.

This is a very easy recipe. Raw tomatoes are being used with onions, garlic cloves, green chilies, salt, and Jaggery. This means that the Raw tomato chutney is sweet, sour, and spicy spread that can be used with burgers, in between Bread slices with sandwiches, with parathas, poori, Dosa, etc.

Raw tomato chutney is a spicy and tangy spread, which is a blend of sour raw tomato, hot green chilies, the sweetness of Jaggery, and the aroma and taste of onions, garlic, coriander leaves, and curry leaves.

It also has a little crunch in between, of the sesame seeds. The beauty of this chutney is that it can be stored for up to a month time if kept in the refrigerator.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR RAW TOMATO CHUTNEY:-

  • 4-5 medium-sized -Raw tomatoes
  • 2-3 medium-sized onions
  • 5-6 fresh green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon of Jaggery
  • 4-5 cloves of fresh garlic (optional)
  • 1 level teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of oil to saute raw tomatoes and onions

Ingredients for garnishing the sour and spicy raw tomato chutney:-

  • 2 tablespoons of -any edible oil.
  • 1 tablespoon of -white sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
  • 1 peanut size Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1 teaspoon of Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds
  • 10-12 curry leaves

Instructions for making raw tomato chutney:-

  • Peel and cut the onions roughly, and cut the raw tomatoes after washing them. Also wash green chilies, fresh curry leaves, and fresh coriander leaves. Peel the garlic cloves too.
  • Keep all the ingredients ready.

ROASTING METHOD FOR TOMATO CHUTNEY.

  • Take a thick-bottomed steel frying pan, and keep it on low flame to heat. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and then cut onions and garlic cloves to the pan.

  • Saute for 1 minute and then add cut green chilies and curry leaves.

  • after sauteing for one minute add cut raw tomatoes to the pan.

  • Saute for 1 minute and then add turmeric and salt to the chutney pan.

  • combine them nicely and then keep them covered for 2 minutes, to soften the tomatoes.
  • cover a lid to speed up softening

  • Now you see that onions and tomatoes have become soft. put off the flame.
  • Remove the ingredients onto a plate and cool them completely.

GRINDING METHOD FOR TOMATO CHUTNEY:-

  • Now put the cooled chutney ingredients into a grinder mixer jar.

  • Grind the chutney coarsely. and keep it aside.

GARNISHING THE RAW TOMATO CHUTNEY:-
  • keep all ingredients ready for garnishing the chutney.

  • Keep the same thick steel frying pan on the stove and heat with 2 tablespoons of oil
  • Add mustard seeds, and let it crackle.

  • Now add Cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, sesame seeds, and curry leaves. As soon as you see the sesame seeds puff and crackle, the garnish is ready.

  • Now is the time to add the ground chutney paste to the pan.

  • Start sauteing the mix as it contains too much of moisture.
  • Saute till the mixture becomes a little thick and the oil in it starts oozing back leaving the sides of the pan.

Now the “RAW TOMATO CHUTNEY” is ready to relish.
