INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING FLAX SEED CHUTNEY POWDER
- Flax seeds-1 cup
- Urad dal-1 tablespoon
- Red chilly-8-10 in numbers
- Dry coconut gratings-1 cup
- Dry curry leaves-3/4 cup
- Tamarind-1/2 lemon size
- Jaggery-1 tablespoon
- Salt-3/4 teaspoon
- Asafoetida-1 pinch
- Oil-1 teaspoon
METHOD OF ROASTING THE INGREDIENTS OF FLAX SEED CHUTNEY POWDER
- Take a frying pan. and heat it on a low flame.
- On the low flame start dry roasting the urad dal.
- When the dal turns golden with a nice aroma, remove it to a plate.
- Now clean the flax seeds, put them into the heated pan, and dry roast for a minute.
- Now remove from the pan onto a plate.
- Now put about a teaspoon of oil and the RED CHILIES.
- Add the curry leaves too and roast together., till the chilies are crispy
- Now in the hot pan, put the tamarind pieces.
- Put off the flame now and add dry grated coconut gratings.
- A hot frying pan has enough heat to roast the coconut to a little golden color.
GRINDING OF FLAX SEED CHUTNEY POWDER
- Firstly, grind the red chilies, urad dal, tamarind, and curry leaves into a coarse powder in a mixer jar.
- Now add salt, and jaggery to the powder.
- Add the coconut powder at last.
- Combine all of them and again run the mixer for 2-3 seconds, so that the chutney powder gets a homogeneous texture and taste.
