DEAR FRIENDS, TODAY’S RECIPE IS HEALTHY BAJRA DOSA
In this Dosa along with Pearl Millet, we will be using Chana dal, whole Urad, Tuar dal, and Poha (beaten rice). Fenugreek seeds and Salt.
BAJRA (pearl millet) is a type of Millet, which is loaded with plenty of Nutrition.
It is easily available and is not costly so people can afford it.
It is a pearl millet, which is rich in FIBER, PROTEIN, and MINERALS LIKE MAGNESIUM, IRON, AND PHOSPHOROUS.
It’s naturally GLUTEN-FREE and alkaline NATURE SO IS VERY GOOD FOR THE BODY.
because of its nutrition, many of the common illnesses like OBESITY, CONSTIPATION, DIABETES, and HYPERTENSION can be treated to some extent.
It feels fuller for a longer time because of its complex carbohydrate content, so is a perfect weight-loss
grain.
CHANA DAL, WHOLE URAD, AND TUAR DAL ARE GOOD PROTEIN SOURCES FOR VEGETARIANS.
FENUGREEK SEEDS. Regulates blood sugar.

Let us see the ingredients we need to make this DOSA.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR BAJRA DOSA
INGREDIENTS
- Bajra or Pearl Millet-1 big bowl
- Whole Urad-1/2 cup
- Tuar dal-1/4 cup
- Chana dal-1/4 cup.
- Poha-1/2 cup
- Fenugreek seeds-1.5 teaspoon
- Salt -1 teaspoon.
PREPARATIONS TO BE DONE FOR BAJRA DOSA
1) Take 4 bowls to wash and soak the ingredients.
In a bowl take the given quantity of pearl millet after cleaning it manually.
Wash it rubbing nicely with hands 3-4 times or till the water looks clear.
Now put almost double the amount of water and allow it to soak for 4-5 hours.
2) Take another bowl and wash Whole urad and fenugreek seeds.
Wash about 3-4 times and soak in double the amount of water for 4-5 hours.
3) Take a bowl and add both Tuar and Chana dal to it.
Wash in the same way till clear water appears and soak in double the amount of water for 4-5 hours.
4) In yet another bowl take the poha and wash it 3-4 times and soak it in about 3 times of water as it absorbs too much water.
You can give just 1/2 an hour to soak. It is enough.
METHOD OF GRINDING THE DOSA BATTER
- Firstly put the pearl millet in the mixer grinder and grind it to a fine paste.
- Remove in a mixing bowl.
- Now put both the dals and grind and put in the same mixing bowl.
- Next comes the grinding of urad and fenugreek seeds.
- This also needs fine grinding. Remove to a bowl.
- At the last, put soaked poha and grind it to a fine paste.
- Remove it to the mixing bowl.
- Put little water in the jar and finally clean and add to the DOSA batter.
- combine all of them nicely.
YOU HAVE A SMOOTH BATTER READY FOR MAKING HEALTHY PEARL MILLET DOSA.
Keep this batter covered overnight and the next day adds salt and mix it, the batter is ready for making dosa.

- You will see that the batter has fermented and has become very light and foamy with plenty of air pockets
METHOD OF MAKING BAJRA DOSA
- Heat a Dosa pan.
- Smear some oil on it and reduce the flame to medium heat.
- Now wipe the hot Tawa with a wet cloth.
- Take a ladle full of batter and put it in the center of Tawa.
- Spread the batter on Tawa, from the center to the outer area in a circular motion so as to make a round Dosa.
- Put some oil with the help of a brush on the outer boundary. Cover a lid for 1 Minute.
- Open the lid and flip, and put little oil on this side too.
- flip once more and serve hot, with chutney of your choice.
- CRISPY, HEALTHY, BAJRA (PEARL MILLET) DOSA IS READY TO EAT.
Note; You can combine the different types of millet and make Dosa.
It can be taken for breakfast or as a light dinner, especially for those who are on Diet or Diabetic.
