INGREDIENTS FOR ALOO METHI MATAR TAMATAR

- Potato-2 big
- Fenugreek leaves (methi)-1 bowl
- Fresh peas-1 cup
- Tomatoes-2 big.
- Onion-2 medium
- Green chilies-2 nos
- Ginger 1inch piece
- Garlic-3-4 cloves
- Oil-2 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds-1/2 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds-1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric-3/4 teaspoon
- Red chilly powder-1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder-1.5 teaspoon
- Garam masala-1 teaspoon
- Salt-1 teaspoon
PREPARATIONS TO BE DONE FOR ALOO METHI MATAR TAMATAR
- De-seed the Fresh peas.
- Wash and chop the fresh Fenugreek leaves.
- Peel and cut the onions into small pieces.
- Wash and peel, then cut potatoes into small cubes.
- Wash and cut a tomato into small pieces.
- Chop green chilies, Ginger, and Garlic into small pieces.
- Keep all the spices ready.
METHOD OF COOKING ALOO METHI MATAR TAMATAR
- Keep a thick bottom fry pan to heat on a medium flame.
- When hot, add oil to it. Reduce the flame.
- Add Mustard seeds and cumin seeds, roast a little, and immediately add Ginger, Garlic, and Green chili.
- Saute till the raw smell of Ginger and garlic goes off.
- Now add the cut Onions and roast till the Onions become pink and transparent.
- When done, add the cut Potatoes.
- Keep it covered for about 3-4 mts.
- The potato is half cooked, add shelled Fresh Peas to it and mix.
- Now add the chopped Fenugreek leaves and saute.
- Add the dry spices, such as Red chilly powder, Turmeric powder, Coriander powder, Salt, and Garam masala.
- Cook for a further 3 mts and now add cut tomatoes.
- Saute for 2 mts, covered and the curry is ready.
NOTE: You can add Amchur powder or lemon juice if you like a sour taste in curry.
You can add little water if you do not want to have a dry curry.
