APPLE JAM
INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING APPLE JAM

- Apple-350 grams
- Sugar-1/2 cup
- Water-1/2 cup
- Lemon-1 small or citric acid-1 pinch.
- Food colors (yellow or orange) are optional.
PREPARATION NEEDED FOR MAKING APPLE JAM
- Select good and fresh apples, wash, peel, and cut into small pieces discarding the center part and seeds.
- Squeeze the juice of a lemon and keep it ready.
METHOD OF MAKING APPLE JAM
- Take a thick bottom pan and heat on a low flame.
- Add cut Apple pieces to it and add 1/2 cup water.
- You can cover and cook for about 8-10 mts or till the pieces are soft.
- Now with a masher mash the cooked apples nicely.
- Add 1/2 cup sugar to it and stir.
- You will see that sugar dissolves and makes the jam watery in consistency.
- After a few mts, the jam starts thickening.
- Continue till the jam starts forming a lump and no water content is seen on the sides of the pan.
- TO TEST PUT JAM ON A PLATE, THE JAM DOES NOT MOVE BUT STICKS TO THE PLATE.
- This means that jam is done. Put off the flame.
- When it cools completely add lime juice to it.
- You can add food color at this stage.
- But my choice is I avoid food colors as far as possible.
2) You can store it for 2-3 months without spoiling.
