CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY POWDER

FRIENDS, as I said in my previous post, CHUTNEY POWDER.

Curry leaves chutney powder is not a  complete dish but whenever you want to eat something spicy, as a complement to bland dishes, for example, khichadi, upama, etc, it enhances the taste.
Today I am going to show you THE SPECIAL CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY POWDER.
Curry leaves have got medicinal properties and have n number of nutrients in them as vitamins A, B, C, and E. It has minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, Iron, Magnesium, and copper. It has fiber, proteins, and anti-oxidant property also. Because of this it is good for hair, reduces obesity, lowers cholesterol, and improves digestion.
As you have seen using CURRY LEAVES is so beneficial, I thought of sharing with you a very healthy, tasty, spicy, and nutritious recipe.

Let us see what ingrediients are needed to make CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY POWDER

  1. Urad dal-1 cup
  2. Dry coconut -1 cup (grated)
  3. Curry leaves -1 cup full
  4. Red chilies-5 numbers (hot variety as Guntur )
  5. Red chilies-8 numbers(less hot than bydagi which gives color)
  6. Tamarind-2-3 numbers.
  7. Jaggery-1 teaspoon(powdered)
  8. Garlic-6-8 cloves
  9. Table salt-1 teaspoon and a pinch of hing
  10. Cumin(jeera )seeds-1 teaspoon
  11. Oil- 1 teaspoon (for roasting)

METHOD OF MAKING CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY POWDER

  1. Firstly wash curry leaves and pat them dry on a paper towel or can dry them in the shade if you have time.(never in sunlight).
  2. Grate dry coconut and keep aside.
  3. Now keep a frying pan on a low flame to heat.
  4. Put 1 cup of urad dal and dry roast till it changes its color and starts giving a nice aroma. Keep aside.

  1. Now in the hot fry pan (still on low flame) add dry coconut gratings and roast till it starts giving an aroma.
  2. Next comes red chilies. Remove the top and add 1 teaspoon oil roast it till crisp.
  3. Put cumin seeds and hing also with the Red chilies.
  4. Now put off the flame and add CURRY LEAVES and tamarind to the hot pan and let it be there.

  1. Cool completely all the ingredients and then put in a mixer grinder to make a coarse powder.
  2. powder all except dry coconut,(put it last and grind once more)
  1. CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY POWDER IS READY TO RELISH WITH HOT PLAIN RICE WITH GHEE OR WITH DOSA OR WITH WHATEVER YOU WANT TO

NOTE It is always advisable to use a dry spoon and an air-tight glass jar to store.
